Earthmoving Invests in New Generation DAF XG 530 Heavy Haulage Tractor

Kent-based Ovenden Earthmoving, a

specialist in earthmoving and civil engineering, has expanded its fleet with a New

Generation DAF XG 530 heavy haulage tractor unit featuring DAF’s FTT 6x4

double-drive configuration. The company’s decision builds on positive

experiences with previous DAF XF models, citing proven reliability, enhanced

driver comfort, and excellent dealer support.

Strength in

Performance & Haulage Capability

The new DAF XG 530 is paired with

Ovenden Earthmoving’s six-axle Nooteboom step-frame low-loader,

regularly operating at weights up to 120 tonnes gross. Key

specifications include:

  • 12.9-litre

    MX-13 engine, delivering 530hp and 2,600Nm of

    torque.

  • ZF

TraXon 12-speed automated gearbox, praised for smooth handling in heavy

    haulage applications.

  • Steel

    front suspension (9-tonnes) & rear bogie air-suspension (30-tonnes

    STGO rated).

Driver-Approved

Comfort & Efficiency

Driver Hugh Forbes has been impressed

with the XG’s automated gearbox integration, noting its strong

hill-climbing ability and refined low-speed manoeuvrability. The luxury

cab, featuring premium leather seats, automatic climate control,

auxiliary heating, and an extra-wide bunk, has further reinforced DAF’s

commitment to driver satisfaction.

Dealer

Support & Competitive Delivery

Ovenden Earthmoving also praised the high-level

support from local DAF dealer, Channel Commercials. Their expertise

in vehicle specification and aftersales service played a crucial role in

the company’s decision, alongside competitive pricing and rapid delivery

times.

The New Generation DAF XG 530 marks a step-up

in performance, efficiency, and driver appeal—setting a new standard for

heavy haulage operations.
